AFRIMA is definitely the award ceremony the whole of Africa have been waiting for. This was confirmed by the turnout of artists from all the five regions of Africa at the award event.

In attendance were various artists from all parts of Africa. Among the dignitaries in attendance was All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftains Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson, Information Commissioners for Ogun state and Lagos state, Steve Ayorinde and Dayo Adeneye, his entertainment business partner, Kenny Ogungbe, Ali Baba, Gbenga Adeyinka, many celebrities from across Africa like AKA from South Africa, Cassper Nyovest, Stonebowy, Wiyaala, VIP from Ghana, Ahmed Soultan from Morocco, Diamond Platnum from Tanzania.

The award proper started with veteran actor, singer and theatre arts lecturer, Jimi Solanke talking about African music and the first performance was by an Ethiopian artist, Tsedenia while Shakitibobo crooner Olamide closed the award event with his electrifying performance. Other artistes that performed included four times Grammy award winning group from South Africa, Ladysmith who performed alongside Cobhams Asuquo, AKA, Adekunle Gold, Wiyaala, Darey, Betty Akna, and Ahmed Soultan featuring Wiyaala.
