Tony Rapu, medical practitioner and a Pastor of This Present House, a popular church in Lekki, Lagos – has shared a video footage of a young Nigerian boy identified as Shanawole, who was rescued from the streets during a recent God Bless Nigeria/Freedom Foundation rehabilitation mission. The 11-year-old boy who says he belongs to Eiye confraternity and smokes marijuana well – revealed that if anyone messes with him or his group, it’s his job to kill the person/hack the person down. He also said that if anyone tries to fight them, he and his boys will hit the person very hard. The young boy who also claimed to be robber – has been taken off the streets and is undergoing rehabilitation.

A 14-year-old rape victim, Abasiya Tukur has slashed the manhood of her attacker identified as Bishir Yau with a razor blade while attempting to free herself from his grips in Katsina State. This was disclosed by police prosecutor, Kabir Mohammed, while arraigning 30-year-old Yau before a Senior Magistrate Court in Katsina State. Yau of Yargase village in Kankara local government area of the state was arraigned on a count charge of rape, on Monday. Mohammed told the court that Yau had sometime last month allegedly lured Tukur who resides in the same house with him, into a nearby uncompleted building, and “forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.” The prosecutor noted that the offence was contrary to section 283 of Penal Code law. The Nigerian Navy on Wednesday said it had impounded a wooden boat laden with 90 jerry cans of stolen petrol from suspected pipeline vandals at the Pashe creek in Badagry area of Lagos State. The Commander, Forward Operating Base of the Navy in Badagry, Capt. Simon Dogo, told journalists in Lagos that the seizure was made after the vandals abandoned the boat on sighting a naval team and fled. “My patrol teams went on patrol at Pashe creek when they saw perpetrators trying to load the petroleum products in a boat for transfer to Benin Republic. “The perpetrators, on sighting the naval team, jumped into water and fled. Four child traffickers, including an evangelist were arrested and paraded on Wednesday, June 15, by the police for allegedly kidnapping a four year old child from her school, St Joseph Primary School in Umuhu-Okabia in Orsu local government area of the state.  Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Andrew Enwerem who paraded the suspects said that the little girl Chinasa Okeke was abducted by Chibueze Okorie,20,  in connection with Chinonso Ogbedi, Ijeoma Ogbuehi, an acclaimed Evangelist and Joy Nwosu all of Orsu local government whose plan was to sell the child. Sokoto state government has jacked up allowances of Youth Corps members serving in the state. Governor Aminu Tambuwal announced the new policy during the swearing-in ceremony of 2016 Batch A Stream II corps members at the state NYSC orientation camp in Wamakko on Monday June 13th. “Graduates of medicine will now be paid N50,000 from the current amount of N36,000. Pharmacists will now N25,000 up from the N19,000 obtainable in the past, while graduates of lab science and other medical technicians like nurses are now entitled to monthly stipend of N15,000, up from the current N9,000 they are getting from the state government. In the same vein, graduates of social science and humanities will now be paid N5,000 monthly, a one thousand addition from the previous N4,000 they receive from as state allawee"he said. Officers from the Edo state Police Command this morning took over the Edo state House of Assembly complex. 10 Hilux patrol vans and an armoured tank have been positioned around the complex.  This comes six days after 16 members of the state assembly impeached their speaker, Victor Edoro and replaced him with Elizabeth Ativie. Workers at the state assembly have also been denied access into their offices. The state command says the presence of the security officers is to avert any break down of law and order that may arise following the impeachment.
