Tony Rapu, medical practitioner and a Pastor of This Present House, a popular church in Lekki, Lagos – has shared a video footage of a young Nigerian boy identified as Shanawole, who was rescued from the streets during a recent God Bless Nigeria/Freedom Foundation rehabilitation mission. The 11-year-old boy who says he belongs to Eiye confraternity and smokes marijuana well – revealed that if anyone messes with him or his group, it’s his job to kill the person/hack the person down. He also said that if anyone tries to fight them, he and his boys will hit the person very hard. The young boy who also claimed to be robber – has been taken off the streets and is undergoing rehabilitation.

A coalition of pro-Buhari organisations under the aegis of Citizens Support for Good Governance in Nigeria is mobilising to hold rallies tagged, “I Support President Buhari” across four Nigerian cities this week. Punch reported that no fewer than three persons, including two children, have been killed by a gas explosion at 32, Osazuwa Street, along Agbor road, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. Amina Ali was discovered on Tuesday in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno state by civilian vigilantes assisting the military and brought back to her home town of Mbalala, near Chibok. “She met her parents, who recognised their daughter before she was taken to the military base in Damboa,” Ayuba Alamson Chibok, a community leader in Chibok, told AFP. “Her father’s name is Ali and the girl’s name is Amina. At least 800 members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram have reportedly surrendered to the military in the last three weeks, the Defence Headquarters said.The Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Rabe Abubakar, who made this disclosure to Punch, in Abuja on Wednesday noted that 800 of the insurgents dropped arms in the last three weeks. He said, “I can confirm that about 800 of the Boko Haram members have surrendered to the military.” This development is coming barely 24 hours after the Defence Headquarters announced the establishment of a rehabilitation camp for repentant Boko Haram members. The DHQ had in a statement on Tuesday stated that the rehabilitation camp was being established under Operation Safe Corridor, which was created as a platform to rehabilitate and integrate repentant members of the sect to the society. As Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki faces his substantive trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, on Tuesday, his lead Counsel and former Minister of Justice, Chief Kanu Agabi was surprisingly absent.Chief Agabi and a team of 80 defence lawyers challenged the jurisdiction of the tribunal to try Saraki through a motion he filed at the CCT, but lost the case in a ruling which was delivered by Justice Danladi Umar last week. Consequently, the Prosecuting counsel sought immediate commencement of substantive trial so as not to foot-drag the matter that had been delayed in the last six months over what he termed frivolous motions and counter motions. But in his submission, Agabi pleaded that the matter be fixed for hearing at a later date.
