4 killed in cement truck crash, 4 others hospitalised

– Four people died after being struck by a cement truck in Usmanu, Sokoto

– Four other are injuried and taken to hospital 

Four people dead, four others injuried after they were crushed by an out-of-control cement truck in Usman, Sokoto state.

The accident took place at More Junction near Federal Science College at about 11.40 p.m. on Thursday.

The information was provided by Usman Khaliel, the rescue officer of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Sokoto state command.

According to Mr Khaliel, the heavy truck swerved off the road and crashed into shops at the junction, killing the victims instantly.

The deceased were transported to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital.

Four other people, including driver of the truck, with  various degrees of injury were receiving treatment in the same hospital.

The command’s spokesman, Mr El-Mustapha Sani, also confirmed the incident in an interview with NAN newsmen.
